Dias de Confusão

Pois é meus amigos, o Natal aproxega-se e já estou a dar em maluco! Trabalhar numa grande superfície nestas alturas do ano é sem duvida uma "bad idea"... Experiência muito gira, mas MUITO cansativa!

Não tenho tido tempo sequer para usar a minha própria casa de banho e, diga-se de passagem, é algo que dou muito valor!

Bom... por hoje é tudo e mais não digo!!!

Inverno... Como fazer dinheiro?

Saudades...

Já faz um tempo em que a vida era simples. Já la vai um tempo em que comer um gelado era uma conquista e receber um par de calças no natal ser algo memorável! A vida nessa altura, também conhecida como a idade da inocência, era simples e feliz.

Agora que penso e o tempo avança, dou conta do que me diverti ao longo destes anos, aos quais me recordo com facilidade do quão fácil era! Bastava dar uma voltinha de bicicleta, seguido de umas quedas e risotas, e seria suficiente para se passar um bom dia... Como era bom ser criança!!!

Em contrapartida, ser mais velho tem as suas vantagens (e se tem...)! A independência adquirida facilita e abre um leque de opções anteriormente inalcançaveis! As grandes viagens sem a presença dos pais, sempre acompanhado de amigos; as grandes noitadas em que o resultado final da noite é sempre inesperada, e por ai em diante!!!

Como é bom viver e aproveitar todas as etapas da vida!

Dangers of not making a will

The law sets out clear rules for what happens to your estate - property, personal possessions and cash - if you die without a will.

Passing away without a will is known in legal parlance as dying intestate and the rules that govern the distribution of the estate in such circumstances is known as the law of intestacy.

Under the Administration of Estates Act 1925 the spouse and children do not automatically receive everything in the deceased's estate.
There is a strict pecking order under the Act for deciding who gets what.

Where the deceased leaves a spouse but no children, the spouse receives:
All the personal chattels such as a car, furniture, clothes and jewellery
A legacy of £200,000 and one half of the balance outright
The remaining balance then passes to various relatives; first to the deceased's parents if either are still alive but if not then equally amongst brothers and sisters

Hong Kong v Shanghai: Global Rivals

Business seats on flights from Hong Kong to Beijing and Shanghai are now packed full on Monday mornings and Friday evenings, according to China's banking regulator, Liu Mingkang.
A decade ago, the migration was in the other direction, with migrant labourers from China flooding into Hong Kong.
The reverse commuting from Hong Kong is one sign of the growing economic importance of mainland China compared to its former colony.
And Shanghai's vibrant shopping streets now attract visitors from Hong Kong and around the world.
But residents of Shanghai - whose per capita income, though it is the highest in China, is still well below people in Hong Kong - still envy their richer cousins.

And according to Professor Saskia Sassen, an expert on globalisation who teaches at the London School of Economics, Shanghai is still lagging behind Hong Kong as a truly global city.
But will it overtake its rival in the race for financial supremacy?
Economic liberalisation
In the 1980s, Hong Kong was the vital entrepot between mainland China and the outside world.

Goods assembled in China were re-exported through Hong Kong, while financial and business services were provided for Chinese companies which traded with the West.
And when the Chinese government decided to open up its economy to foreign investment, the first special economic zone - Shenzhen - was chosen for its proximity to Hong Kong.
Many Hong Kong businesses, especially in textiles and clothing, relocated, bringing expertise and capital to the mainland.
The specialisation of Hong Kong in financial and business services increased as manufacturing jobs moved to the mainland.
And Chinese companies used the Hong Kong stock market when they wanted to raise money.
Hong Kong's open financial markets meant that it came under pressure during the Asian financial crisis in 1997, just after the handover.
Only massive intervention by the government prevented a financial meltdown.
The Shanghai boom
But by the 1990s, it had become clear that China's economic policy-makers were tilting towards the development of other economic regions, especially Shanghai and Beijing, as the leading centres of foreign investment.
